Official Boxart Revealed
What's a game without a cover? Something plain. Luckily, the Black Ops cover is no longer classified...
Sadly, it's been a slow few weeks for Black Ops news after E3 and hopefully that will soon change, but for now these images of the cover art will have to satisfy your needs.
Activision have just released images of the cover art that will feature on retail boxart's for Treyarch's upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops.
It was over a year ago that Robert Bowling » revealed the boxart for Modern Warfare 2 but now it's Josh Olin's » turn. The main talking point regarding Modern Warfare 2's cover was the exclusion of the Call of Duty title in order to make Modern Warfare its own series, but this soon changed and "Call of Duty" was then included on the boxart for the normal versions of the game.
What's the talking point for Black Ops' cover? Well...there really isn't one. Treyarch have decided to stick to the traditional Call of Duty title and a image that we should all be accustomed with by now. That's right, unsurprisingly Treyarch are sticking with the same image that they've promoted on posters and other marketing objects and as with previous Call of Duty boxart's there is one main soldier in the shot (although no standing up, like in other CoD's). It's "Sally" and her owner that once again catches our eyes...
Activision seem to be following the same marketing campaign as with Modern Warfare 2, in regards to "when" stuff is revealed that is. It was also just over a year ago that the Modern Warfare 2 collector editions were announced, therefore here's hoping for some news on the Black Ops collector editions next week or in the coming weeks.
