The Colt M1911 is a semi-automatic pistol, firing .45 ACP rounds. As the name would suggest, the weapon was first produced in 1911, making it one of the oldest weapons that still remains in service. The M1911 is loaded with a seven round magazine, although in recent years, some magazines for the M1911 can load eight rounds. The M1911 appears in the teaser screen for Black Ops, in the hands of a soldier who is holding two M1911 pistols. On one of the pistols, the name "Sally" is engraved onto the slide. Whether this is significant or not remains to be seen.
